Canada is becoming an increasingly popular destination for international students, and for good reason. Here's what you need to know.


Why Canada?

  • Lower tuition than US (typically $20,000-$45,000 CAD/year for international students)
  • Post-graduation work permit (up to 3 years)
  • Pathway to permanent residency
  • Safe, multicultural environment
  • World-class universities (U of T, McGill, UBC, Waterloo)

Application Process:

  • Most applications are through provincial systems (OUAC for Ontario, ApplyBC for BC)
  • Primarily grades-based (less holistic than US)
  • Some programs require supplementary applications (essays, portfolios)
  • Deadlines typically January-February

Top Programs to Consider:
